Good news for the economy isn't always good news for mortgage rates.

Last week's jobs report came in much stronger than expected, showing employers are still hiring and the economy remains resilient.

So why does that matter?

When the economy runs hot, inflation becomes a bigger concern. And when inflation stays elevated, mortgage rates tend to face upward pressure.

Now, all eyes turn to Wednesday's Consumer Price Index (CPI) report, one of the most important inflation reports of the month. The results could play a major role in determining where mortgage rates head next.

The market is asking one big question:

Is inflation finally cooling enough to bring rates lower?

40% of the way to our goal. 📊

At the beginning of 2026, we launched our 100 Wins for 100 Families campaign with a simple mission: help 100 families achieve their goals this year.

Today, we're grateful to share that we've officially helped 40 families across Tennessee, California, Arizona, Georgia, and Texas.

From first-time buyers and growing families to retirees, investors, HELOC clients, refinances, and cross-country moves, every transaction represented something bigger than a loan.

It represented a dream.
