Credit IS your greatest friend or foe when purchasing or refinancing a home! Knowing what impacts your credit most can ensure you get the best rates and lowest monthly payment available. A few tips to follow.
1. Never allow your credit card balances to exceed 30% of your available balance.
2. ALWAYS make your payments on time
3. Never allow too many companies to pull your credit. Too many credit inquiries can severely damage your credit.
4. Keep credit cards and other revolving lines of credit open. The longer credit history you have the better it is for your score.
5. Remember home ownership is a great asset for your credit score.
