Interest Rates Trends: What Buyers Need to Know This Fall🍂🍁

Mortgage rates have been on a steady decline, which is great news for the housing market! We hope to continue to see that as long as economic data allows it.
Mortgage Rates are influenced by several key factors.

🏡Federal Reserve Policies
🏡Housing Market Dynamics

With inflation at its lowest point in the past 3 years, we are VERY likely to see a rate but this Sept. The question everyone wants to know is… by how much? That will be determined sept 17th, 2024. This could bring an influx of buyers into the market but could also encourage those who have been holding out on selling to list their homes and bring an influx of sellers into the market.

How Buyers Can Take Advantage of Current Market Conditions and what advice would you give to buyers looking to make the most of the current market conditions?

To maximize your situation, it’s important to understand what your overall situation looks like. It’s not a bad idea to start a mortgage application to know what you need to work on (if anything) or just have a good understanding of what you’re eligible to buy when you’re ready.

Monitor your credit. Higher credit scores will have access to better or more affordable interest rates.
Refrain from taking out any new loans and try to eliminate higher payment credit lines. When we look at mortgages, we do nor really look at total debt, we focus mostly on your monthly obligations. So, consider a balance transfer on credit cards to a promotional rate card that would lower your monthly liability, or maybe look into refinancing a auto loan for a lower payment.

Talk to an experienced and knowledgeable Real Estate Agent if you’re considering buying or selling a home to get a better understanding of the market. They can advise you on timing of the market, how to leverage certain market conditions, or get you in touch with a lender they have experience working with that has a track record of getting things done right, the first time.
