Ready for some fun facts?!

1. It is widely believed that America declared their independence from Britain on July 4, 1776. However, the official vote actually took place two days before and the “Declaration” was published in papers on July 4.📜

2. Only Two Men Signed the Declaration of Independence on July 4, 1776; Charles Thompson & the infamous John Hancock. The other 54 delegates signed over the course of the next month.🖊

3. There is Something Written on the Back of the Declaration of Independence.. and no, it isn't a treasure map written in invisible ink🙃.--According to the History Channel, a simple message is written upside-down across the bottom of the signed document that reads, "Original Declaration of Independence dated 4th July 1776." According to the same article, no one knows who wrote this or when, but it was believed to have been added as a label during the years of the Revolutionary War when parchment was frequently rolled up for transport.

4. On the second anniversary of Independence Day in 1778, American troops were fighting the American Revolutionary War. During this time, George Washington ordered a double ration of rum for American soldiers to celebrate the holiday with. 🥃

5. Thomas Jefferson, 82, & John Adams, 90, both died on July 4, 1826 within five hours of each other on the 50th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence. 😬☠️

6. The stars on the original American flag were in a circle so all the Colonies would appear equal.✌️

7. Every 4th of July the Liberty Bell in Philadelphia is tapped (not actually rung) thirteen times in honor of the original thirteen colonies.🎊
