April is Distracted Driving Awareness Month, a reminder that we all need to do what we can to drive as safely as possible. These tips can help increase your awareness on the road and avoid accidents related to distracted driving.

đźš— Make a passenger your co-pilot. Let them handle texts, directions, or any other important task so you can keep both hands on the wheel and eyes on the road.

đźš— Avoid multitasking. Eating, putting on makeup, or digging around in a bag can pull your attention from driving. Plan a quick stop if you have a task you must complete.

đźš— Guard your attention. If your mind starts to wander as you drive, pull over and do a quick reset by taking a few deep breaths and refocus on the road.

🚗Pull over to assist children. If you’re driving alone with children and they need attention, it’s best practice to pull into a safe spot rather than turn around or take your eyes off the road.

While these tips can help improve your safety while you’re on the road, it’s impossible to avoid accidents outright. That’s where we come in. Give us a call today, and we can help you find the right auto coverage to help protect you in the event of an accident.

April is Distracted Driving Awareness Month, making now a good time to take stock of how you’re driving. Distracted driving can start with how you set up your car before you drive, so we wanted to share a few tips that can help you hit the road distraction-free:

đźš— Set up before you roll. Adjust your seat, mirrors, climate, and audio to your liking while parked.

🚗 Put the phone away. Keep it out of reach, or use your phone’s “Do Not Disturb” feature while driving. If something cannot wait, pull over first.

đźš— Keep the cabin calm. Secure loose items, cap drinks, and restrain pets before you hit the road.

Driving safely is one piece of the puzzle, and the other is comprehensive auto coverage. We’re here to talk you through any auto insurance questions you may have. Give us a call, and we can get started.

Heads up: Spring means more animals along and on the road. Animals become more active in the spring, especially at dawn and dusk. This makes it extra important to slow down and stay alert in areas where animals commonly cross. Additionally, make sure you leave extra room for drivers who are braking hard or swerving to avoid an animal.

Steering clear of animals is one key part of staying safe on the road. It’s also crucial to have coverage that protects you in the event of an accident. If you have questions about your auto insurance or want to schedule a quick coverage review this spring, give us a call. We’re here to help you.
