The New Year is upon us! A time for new adventures, goal setting (and crushing!), and an opportunity to really pursue what is on your heart. With that being said, Circle of Love is looking for some volunteers to add to our awesome family! Newville Sheetz Driver: This opportunity would entail visiting the Newville Sheetz (3299 Ritner Hwy) 1-3 days per week, M-F. Ideally, M,W,F would be most beneficial, but we are open to exploring other days based on driver availability. Visits could occur any time of day. Some minor lifting required (less than 50lb), and reliability is very important. Food picked up from this location will go to support our client choice food pantry.
Cleaning Crew: A behind the scenes but VERY important opportunity! Approx. 1.5 hours per week with a "deep clean" 4 times per year. Can be done any day or time, as long as it is not during open hours when neighbors are visiting. All supplies provided. Weekly vacuuming, mopping (small area), cleaning bathroom (small area), emptying trash, and cleaning indoor refrigerators. If we have multiple interests, the cleaning crew could take turns and switch off to lighten the load. If you are not available weekly but could do even once per month, please feel free to reach out.
Creative Team: If you are patient, creative, artistic, etc this is the opportunity for you! This opportunity includes a variety of craft projects, displays, creative outlets, etc. Some projects will be handed down from Board Members, but we also welcome YOU to have an input and share your creative mind! All supplies will be provided, if anything needs to be purchased Circle of Love will reimburse. Anyone who has a Cricut machine or other crafting devices are very much needed! Projects may take place at your convenience, in your home, or at our Engagement Center.
Food Pantry Crew: If you have a passion for fighting food insecurity this could be the opportunity for you! Our Food Pantry Crew is an AMAZING team of people, and we are searching to add another. Our food rescue/recovery drivers pickup and drop off food M-F to the Engagement Center where it is weighed, recorded, and put away. We have the drivers but are in need of one more person on the receiving end of things. This process requires attention to detail and the ability to lift up to 50 lb. (on occasion) as well as reading and writing to record food weights. Currently, the only day and time needed is Wednesday from 9am - approx. 12pm. Food is a crucial part of our outreach, so reliability is very important.
Restoking Crew: If you have ever visited with us during open hours, you have probably seen how quickly items such as personal care, freezer items, etc are shared with neighbors! Our restocking crew would be asked to restock these items after each time we are open. This does not need to happen directly after opening but would need to occur before we open again. This person could visit any days/hours at their convenience following an opening day. Minimal lifting required. This does not include the restocking of clothing, as we have a solid team for that at this time. If we can gather a team of a few people, the responsibility could be shared to lighten the load.
