The millages on the upcoming ballot are not new taxes. These are existing millages that help fund essential services our residents rely on every day.
In 2021, the Parish Council voted to levy these millages at the maximum rate authorized by law, resulting in higher millage rates than those originally approved by voters.
As these millages come up for renewal, the Parish had two options:
➡️ A millage continuance, which would have kept the higher millage rates in place.
➡️ A millage renewal, which reduces the millage rates back toward the levels originally approved by voters while continuing to fund these essential services.
The Parish chose the renewal option.
The goal is to maintain the services our community depends on while reducing the millage rates compared to those in effect since 2021.
Early voting starts June 12, 2026
