📉 Mortgage Market Update – Week of October 11, 2024 🏡

This past week, the average 30-year fixed mortgage rate ticked up slightly to 6.32%, after weeks of relative stability. This increase follows a rise in Treasury yields and hints at steady rates for the remainder of the year. Meanwhile, 15-year fixed mortgages also saw a slight increase to 5.63%. The good news? Rates are still lower than the highs we saw earlier this year, providing some relief for buyers and homeowners.

As we move into Q4, many experts predict rates will remain elevated until more significant economic changes occur, such as further Fed rate cuts in November and December. Buyers may want to lock in rates now to avoid potential increases. However, the long-term outlook still hints at a gradual decline in rates into 2025. 🌟
