For the past 15 years, Farmers Bank & Trust has been proud to promote attendance of Muhlenberg County High School athletic events through our innovative Debit Card Admission Program.

With this week’s exciting announcement by MCHS that all high school students will now enjoy free admission to home athletic events, Farmers Bank & Trust is announcing the conclusion of the Debit Card Admission Program effective August 1, 2026.

We appreciate all of our customers who took advantage of this program resulting in thousands of admissions and over $100,000 in support. Farmers Bank & Trust remains committed to our students and schools, and are in discussions with officials about how to continue this level of impact in alternative ways in the 2026-27 school year and beyond.

A fraud trend impacting financial institutions across the country has begun affecting customers in our area. This scam primarily targets customers who previously received Paycheck Protection Program (PPP) loans by accessing publicly available information through datasets released by the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA). Criminals are using this publicly available information to make their calls appear legitimate and gain the customer's trust.

Fraudsters are spoofing our bank’s phone number, so incoming calls appear to come directly from Farmers Bank & Trust. The caller typically claims to be a member of the Fraud Department and tells the customer that immediate action is needed due to suspicious account activity.

The fraudster may ask the customer to click a link, log in to online banking through the provided link, provide authentication or verification codes, confirm sensitive credentials, approve or initiate a transaction or move funds to a “safe” account.

Farmers Bank & Trust will NEVER ask customers to click a link to validate a transaction or secure their account, nor will we ask customers for passwords, one-time authentication codes, PINs or other secure access credentials over the phone, by text, or by email.

Caller ID cannot be trusted. If you question the legitimacy of a phone call, hang up and contact Farmers Bank & Trust directly using the phone number on your debit card, bank statement, or our official website.

Today, as America celebrates 250 years of independence, we reflect on the dream that has guided generations since 1776: the opportunity to build a life, a home, a business, and a future.

For more than half of America’s history, Farmers Bank & Trust has been proud to stand alongside our neighbors as they pursue that dream. Since 1899, we’ve helped families buy homes, farmers grow their operations, businesses open their doors, and communities move forward.

What began as a $15,000 investment by nine local visionaries has grown into a community bank rooted in the same belief that shaped our nation: when people are given opportunity, support, and a place to belong, great things can happen.

As we celebrate America’s 250th birthday, we are grateful for the generations of customers, employees, and communities who have trusted us along the way.

Born from a group of mothers who have witnessed firsthand the power of exercise can be for a child, this is another Muhlenberg Civic Leadership project we are proud to help bring to life through a donation.
