A new week is underway for Shelby County schools, with football, volleyball, and cross country all on the calendar.

Center, Joaquin, Tenaha, Timpson, and Shelbyville each have something worth following this week. The individual cards have the details—from the Roughriders at the Whitehouse volleyball tournament to the Rams and Tigers meeting Friday, along with Bears and Dragons road games.

Sometimes a lower insurance premium means a lower-quality policy.

Not always. But sometimes.

One of the most common ways a policy gets priced lower is by paying Actual Cash Value instead of Replacement Cost Value. You pay less every month — but if you ever file a claim, you get paid less too. Sometimes a lot less.

We're not in the business of selling the cheapest policy. We're in the business of making sure you're actually covered when something goes wrong.

Start early this week: the best bass window is before the sun gets up high. The current Toledo Bend pattern has bass taking Carolina rigs in 15–25 feet, with a topwater or wacky rig worth keeping handy at first light around shallow grass. Crappie are stacking over brush piles in 26–27 feet, suspended 13–14 feet down. Thursday’s strongest solunar windows are 5:09–7:09 a.m. and 5:39–7:39 p.m., but the afternoon forecast calls for heat and storm chances, so keep an eye on the sky. We quote it. We've helped East Texas families get coverage on Bolivar and Crystal Beach. But coastal properties sometimes need specialty carriers — and if that's the case for your property, we'll tell you.
