๐ฃ The best framework I have found works best for making strategic decisions and eliminating anxietyโฆ
I donโt remember where I learned this but it does workโฆ
When you are anxious about a decision you need to make or something you are stressing about that is in the future, do this:
โ
Write down the WORST case scenario.
โ
Write down the BEST case scenario.
โ
Write down the MOST LIKELY scenario.
Then assign a % to each.
An easy example would be you run some random tests with your Doctor and he calls you two days later and says very unemotionally that he needs you to come in to discuss the results in person.
Itโs human nature to start to stress out with the worst possible scenario dominating your mindโฆ
So write down:
๐ Worst Case: Serious Illness.
๐ Best Case: Great health, wanted to tell you in person.
๐ Most likely: Teats showed things need to work on.
So maybe 5% chance itโs a serious illness as you donโt have any symptoms , 2% chance he wanted to tell you in person that you are 100% healthy, and 93% chance itโs just something you need to work on.
Then come up with a plan for each scenario. No matter what the Doctor tells you when you go in, you are prepared. Knowing that itโs 93% chance that itโs just something you need to work on gives you a reason not to stress out.
Yes, it could be the 5% but now you have a plan of action just in case.
You can use this frame work with anything you are anxious about. It can also be used when making strategic decisions.
We spend so much time stressing about the โWorst Case Scenarioโ that will likely never occur and using this framework helps you take back control. ๐ฏ๐ฏ
