Our office phones have been operational as of Tuesday afternoon. If you need to turn in a claim please call 319.366.8307. We are able to submit them faster online than you would be able to over the phone.

Please be patient with this process. You may not receive a phone call from the insurance company for several more business days. They are preparing and sending claims adjusters from all over the nation as we speak.

The devastation is widespread and nearly everyone in the Cedar Rapids metro area has incurred damage.

DO NOT SIGN A CONTRACT for major repairs until you have spoken and received approval from the insurance company. If you need to make temporary minor repairs or mitigate damage to make your home livable please do so and take pictures/keep invoices. There will be an influx of out of state contractors door knocking and I want to ensure you do not sign a major contract with exorbitant pricing that will not be honored by the insurance company.

We are here if you need us. This town is strong and we will get through this.

Severe weather on Monday, August 10 in Wisconsin, Illinois, Iowa, and Indiana created an unprecedented number of storm claims which, in turn, resulted in an unprecedented number of claim calls. Because we continue to anticipate a high volume of calls, we encourage our policyholders who wish to report a claim to contact us via e-mail instead at [email protected]. Please be sure to include your policy number, best contact information (along with a phone number and e-mail address, if available) date of loss, and description of what happened or what’s damaged. West Bend customers who use our website or app can also report claims directly using the “Report a claim” feature. You can download our app from here: https://www.thesilverlining.com/claims/download-west-bend-mobile-app or from the Apple or Google app stores.

Please rest assured that “all hands are on deck” for West Bend’s Claims team. We’ll work hard throughout the ensuing days to provide you with the Silver Lining service you’ve come to expect from West Bend.

We have taken the steps to ensure the health and safety of our staff and customers by closing our physical office on March 17th until the COVID-19 virus subsides. All employees will be working from home offices until further notice.

Phone systems are still 100% operational and physical mail is being forwarded by USPS to a home office. This transition takes 7-10 business days according to USPS.
