Each quarter, we come together to reflect on our Positive Focuses, celebrate our wins, and look ahead to what's next. And then… let the competition begin! 😎

This quarter's team-building fun featured a bags tournament, and let's just say our team takes friendly competition pretty seriously!

We're a competitive bunch, but what makes it special is that we genuinely enjoy spending time together. Whether we're working toward a common goal or battling it out over a game of bags, there's always plenty of teamwork, laughter, and a little friendly trash talk!

Have you talked to your parents or grandparents about scams lately?

It may be time for a quick reminder.

Scammers are becoming more sophisticated, and older adults are frequently targeted. These scams happen to smart, responsible people because scammers know how to use fear and emotion to create a sense of urgency.

Remind the people you love to watch for three major red flags:

🚩 Secrecy — “Don’t tell anyone about this.”

🚩 Pressure — “You have to do this.”

🚩 Urgency — “You need to act right now.”

And most importantly, remind them:

IT IS OKAY TO HANG UP.

You don’t have to be polite to someone who is pressuring you. Hang up. Don’t send money. Don’t click the link. Don’t provide a verification code.

Instead, call a family member, trusted friend or financial professional and talk through what happened.

A legitimate situation can wait a few minutes while you verify it. A scammer doesn’t want you to have those few minutes.

❤️ Check in with your parents and grandparents. Have the conversation before they ever receive the call.

Secrecy + Pressure + Urgency = Stop and Verify.

A five-minute conversation today could prevent a devastating financial mistake tomorrow.

The best investment decisions aren't made in a day.

Last week, our advisors spent two days hearing from investment firms across the industry—taking in different market outlooks, asking questions, and filling pages of notes.

Then we did something that's just as important...

We went back to our offices.

We thought about what we heard. We compared notes. We challenged ideas.
We looked at the research. We let it all sink in.

Today is our Semi-Annual Investment Summit—the day we come together as a team to put it all on the table.

What's changed? What hasn't? Where do we agree? Where do we disagree? And most importantly...what's the right path forward for the clients who trust us with their financial future?

There won't be a unanimous opinion on every topic—and that's a good thing.
The goal isn't to think alike. It's to think critically, challenge each other, and leave the room with a clear, thoughtful strategy for the next six months.

That's one of our favorite things about our team. We don't just gather information—we take the time to turn it into conviction.

And ... an Investment Summit wouldn't be complete without homemade treats from Jordan Kuehner, CPWA®, CFP®, CLTC®, MBA®, mom!

We had a great time sponsoring a hole at the Iowa/Nebraska Chapter of the ESOP Association Golf Outing!⛳☀️

Justin Evans, AIF®, CPFA®, NQPC™, CRC® and Toni Stone QKA®, CPFA® spent the day cheering on golfers, talking all things ESOPs, and challenging participants to a fun putting game. There were plenty of laughs, a little friendly competition, and more than a few impressive putts.

The only thing hotter than the competition? The Iowa sun! 🥵 Fortunately, great conversations, cold water, and a lot of smiles made for an outstanding day.

At Strategic Financial Solutions, we're proud to support organizations like the Iowa/Nebraska Chapter of The ESOP Association that bring together professionals who are passionate about employee ownership and helping companies succeed.

A big thank you to the Iowa/Nebraska Chapter for hosting another fantastic event. We always enjoy the opportunity to connect with clients, partners, and friends—both on and off the course.

Spreadsheets by morning. Three-legged races by afternoon. Teamwork all day.

This week, our SFS team took time to reflect on where we've been, celebrate what we've accomplished, and focus on where we're headed next. As we continue embracing our 2026 word of the year—Amplify—we challenged ourselves to amplify our impact, our relationships, our collaboration, and the value we bring to our clients every day.

We also had the opportunity to support a great local organization, Matthew 25's Groundswell Cafe, for lunch—because investing in our community is just as important as investing in our team.

Then came the SFS Picnic Triathlon... where strategy met athleticism (or at least enthusiasm 😂). Egg tosses, three-legged races, and trivia reminded us that teamwork isn't just something we talk about—it's something we practice.

⛳️ The SFS team had an amazing time supporting Foundation 2 Crisis Servicesation 2 Crisis Services at this year’s Putts for Prevention in Downtown Cedar Rapids! What a fun afternoon filled with mini golf, laughter, community connection, and support for such an important mission. Foundation 2 continues to make a tremendous impact through crisis prevention, mental health care, and su***de prevention services across Iowa.

This year, Team SFS was proudly represented by Kristin Bullock, Jamie Scheff Meyers, Toni Stone, and Mikki Dotzler Strelow — and as always, we were honored to be both participants and proud sponsors of the event. 💙
