Most people, however, are interested in how the FTC actually goes about protecting American consumers. It turns out that it uses an online database called the Consumer Sentinel Network (CSN) to securely collect complaints from consumers. This database also collects complaints that get filed with law enforcement organizations at the state level. Even non-governmental organizations can get in on the act and submit complaint information to the FTC. A good example is that of the Better Business Bureau.
