Teen Trust

Teen Trust Teen Trust is a youth philanthropy group consisting of 24 high school students who allocate $15,000 in grants to local nonprofits each year.

The Teen Trust Board is a diverse group of high school students from the Black Hawk County area facilitated by a qualified mentor. Teen Trust provides them the opportunity to serve as Trustees and young philanthropists in their community. They have been given $15,000 from the Community Foundation of Northeast Iowa to allocate to 501(c)(3) nonprofit agencies in Black Hawk County. Organizations ser

ving all ages are welcome to apply for the Teen Trust grant. Using a grant application system, site visits, and interviews, the Trustees work as a team to decide which organizations they wish to help through financial aid and/or volunteerism. Teen Trust empowers and challenges high school students to address, identify and seek solutions to community needs while building a sense of social responsibility. Participants are expected to attend meetings and activities on a consistent basis. The board meets twice a month for approximately two hours per meeting and have other activities scheduled throughout the year, including service projects and fundraising efforts.
