There will be more Medicare changes for the upcoming Annual Enrollment Period (AEP) starting October 15 through December 7. Medicare has made changes to the prescription drug benefit for 2025. We suspect that this change will trigger a major change in most Medicare Advantage and Stand-alone Drug plans for January. We anticipate we will need to see more customers than usual this fall. In preparation, please take note of the following;

• Carefully review the Annual Notice of Change (ANOC) sent to you by your plan in late September or early October.
• Scope of Appointment Forms (SOAs) must be received 48 hours prior to your appointment or we must RESCHEDULE, which may not be possible.
• We will need to verify which plans your providers will be participating with, as well as how well they will cover your prescriptions. For this reason, we will need an update on your providers and prescriptions.

Please help us help you by contacting our office as soon as possible to address these points. The only appointments we will be holding during AEP are for clients who need to make a change to their drug plan, Medicare Advantage plan, or who want to return to Original Medicare, and priority will be given to those who have completed these necessary steps. Beginning April 1, 2023, all states will be able to terminate Medicaid (OHP) enrollment for individuals who are no longer eligible for coverage.

In March of 2022 the Covid-19 Public Heath Emergency allowed for Continuous Coverage of OHP and all terminations were halted but March 31, 2023 was the end of Continuous Enrollment. Starting April 1st and for the next 14 months, those who no longer qualify for OHP will be terminated.

As soon as you receive notice that your OHP will be terminated reach out to us to enroll in a Marketplace plan. If you are employed and your employer offers health insurance, reach out to your HR department. If you believe that your employer insurance is too expensive let us know, you may still qualify for a lower cost plan through the Marketplace.
