🔎 Not every “official” link deserves your click.

You’re trying to check something quickly, maybe between school errands, work, and the next thing on the list. A search result pops up, or you receive a text with an alarming "alert" and a link that looks close enough.

Tip: When it comes to banking, go direct. Type the website yourself, open your app, or use a saved bookmark instead of clicking ads or mystery links.

Action: Save our website today on your desktop or screen so the safe path is the easy path later.

🍽️ Thank you, Bailey's Family Restaurant!

Open House nights are busy, full, and meaningful. Tonight, as families and staff gathered at Cave City School District, Andi and her crew helped us share a little extra care by cooking up the delicious chicken strip meals we provided to the teachers and staff.

We’re grateful for the time, work, and heart the team at Bailey’s put into making those meals happen.

To the Cave City School District team: thank you for letting us be part of Open House tonight. We’re cheering you on for a great school year ahead!

🎉 Celebrating 25 years with Steve!

Please join us in congratulating Steve Turner on 25 years with Bank of Cave City.

Steve serves as Senior Vice President, Loan Officer, and Market President for our Lynn and Strawberry branches, and his work has always carried the kind of steady care people remember.

Steve has spent 37 years in banking, including 25 years as of today with Bank of Cave City. Through those years, he has helped customers with ag lending and so much more. He is the person who will meet after hours, walk through options, answer questions, and do what he can to help people find the next right step.

Customers know Steve for being dependable, prepared, and willing to lend a hand. Our team knows he can be a steady problem solver while being funny in the same conversation, which is a pretty valuable combination.

Steve, thank you for 25 years of taking great care of customers, supporting our local markets, and bringing your experience, humor, and dedication to this team. We are grateful for you.

🎒 Cave City Back to School Bash

A new school year starts a little easier when students have what they need and families feel supported.

We’re glad to help support the Cave City Back to School Bash and help prepare students for the year ahead.

📍 Where: Cave City Elementary Cafeteria
đź“… When: August 6
⏰ Time: 2 PM–6 PM

Families can stop by for free backpacks stuffed with school supplies, plus snacks and slushies while supplies last.

These are the kinds of practical, caring efforts that help a school year start with confidence. Thank you to the Cave City Kiwanis, volunteers, teachers, and everyone helping students head back prepared.

School starts with a lot of little moments.

A new backpack.
A first practice.
A nervous walk into class.
A kid trying something they’re not sure they can do yet.

A few words at the right moment can follow a kid for years.

Because every “good job” means somebody:
- noticed the effort
- spoke confidence out loud
- helped a kid stand a little taller
- reminded them they belong here

One day, that same kid may be the one coaching, teaching, serving, volunteering, hiring, leading, and cheering for the next generation.

Little way to love our town:
Encourage one student this week. An athlete, band member, FFA student, drama kid, reader, helper, worker, or the one who just needs someone to say, “I see you trying.”

👇 Your turn: Who encouraged you when you were growing up?

🤍 Small Town Love Note.

🚨 Scam Alert: Please stay aware 🚨

We’ve received a few calls from neighbors letting us know that scammers are calling and claiming to be from the Bank of Cave City. They appear to be “spoofing” our phone number to look legit. Spoofing means cloning our number to come across your caller id in order to look like it’s really us calling.

They may ask for personal information, account details, online banking passwords, debit card numbers, or other private information.

Please remember: Bank of Cave City will NEVER call and ask you to share sensitive personal or account information over the phone.

If something feels off, hang up and call us directly using a number you know is ours.

🍉📚 Watermelon Jam memories at the Independence County Library

We were proud to sponsor yesterday’s Watermelon Jam at the Independence County Library, and our team loved getting to be part of it.

The afternoon had a little bit of everything that makes a local event feel special:
- watermelon, cantaloupe, and lemonade on the table
- chairs pulled into a musicians circle
- stories being shared
- good music in the background
- kids running around and enjoying the moment
- and yes, a banjo that deserves its own round of applause

One of our favorite moments was when two little sisters came up to the table and asked our team to watch a dance they had made up. When they finished, they asked each person to name two favorite parts.

That is the kind of thing you remember.

Not because it was planned. Because it was sweet, joyful, and full of the kind of confidence kids get when adults stop, watch, listen, and cheer them on.

Thank you to the Independence County Library for creating a space where music, stories, families, and small summer memories could all come together. We were glad to hand out watermelon and lemonade, help where needed, and enjoy the talent and kindness gathered in one room.

👇 What is a small local event memory that has stuck with you?

🎒 Back-to-school prep made the day sweeter in Evening Shade!

Our Evening Shade ladies were busy handing out snacks for the Evening Shade Back to School Bash today.

We loved seeing the care that went into helping students and families start the school year with a little extra encouragement, a few helpful supplies, and a friendly face there to welcome them.

If you made it to the Back to School Bash, thank you for stopping by to see our Evening Shade team. They were glad to share snacks and smiles while celebrating the start of a new school year.

🎒 Back-to-school spending adds up fast.

One stop for shoes. Another for supplies. Then fees, snacks, gas, and “just one more thing” before school starts.

Tip: Set account alerts for purchases, account balances, and online transactions so you know what’s happening as it happens.

Action: Before the back-to-school rush gets rolling, open your banking app and turn on alerts for your debit card or account activity.

👇 What's the one thing you always forget to purchase?
