The Arkansas Insurance Department has approved a plan for Arkansas Blue Cross and Blue Shield and Cambia Health Solutions to form a strategic affiliation.

According to a Friday news release, the affiliation "will enable greater capabilities for access to care that is simpler and more affordable, while maintaining the strong local commitment that has served Arkansans for more than 78 years."

Keep a close eye on this...

CHI St. Vincent and Arkansas Blue Cross and Blue Shield failed to negotiate a new contract by Tuesday's deadline, according to a news release from the insurer.

Without a new deal, Blue Cross Blue Shield insurance customers have no coverage in the CHI St. Vincent network.
