Bank of Commerce is proud to support this project through the dedicated allocation of taxes paid in through this Commerce Department program.
Participation in this program is why it’s so important for community banks, and community businesses, to have open channels of communication with organizations like Pryor Main Street. To participate in community projects like this and be willing to partner on a project. Without the knowledge base provided by Main Street and their Executive Director, we would not have known about this Commerce Department program.
🎉 A MAJOR INVESTMENT IN DOWNTOWN PRYOR 🎉
Pryor Main Street is proud to announce we have been awarded $150,000 through the 2026 Oklahoma Main Street Incentive Program, administered by the Oklahoma Department of Commerce and the Oklahoma Finance Authority. As a designated Main Street program, Pryor received the highest award level, which will be matched by the Pryor Economic Development Trust Authority - EDTA, bringing the total investment to $300,000 for downtown revitalization.
Even more impactful, these incentive funds will remain available to Pryor annually, as long as program benchmarks are met. That positions Pryor Main Street as a long-term economic development and revitalization vehicle for our downtown district and means more projects, more momentum, and more opportunity for Pryor’s future.
For 2026, this funding launches a phased redevelopment of the Graham Community Building, an important municipally owned downtown asset. Phase One will focus on renovating the banquet hall, improving the entry hall with ADA compliant restrooms, and upgrading the kitchen to better support community events and revenue-generating uses.
This project stems from work initiated last spring when Pryor City Council tasked the Pryor Economic Development Authority with conducting an economic feasibility study to determine whether the Graham Community Building could be preserved and operate sustainably. Through the EDTA’s partnership with Pryor Main Street and access to Oklahoma Main Street resources, that vision is now becoming reality.
The Graham Community Building project is guided by an advisory committee made up of local leaders and advocates, including Pryor Main Street Executive Director Bridgette Nichols, EDTA Chair Adam Anderson, Mayor Zac Doyle, City Councilman Terry Lamar, downtown property owner and building advocate Jack Hardy, and Pryor Main Street board member and downtown business owner Cord Wright.
This incentive program operates under a public private partnership (P3) model, requiring a municipally owned property, nonprofit project management, matching funds, and private investment through employer tax withholdings that stay local rather than being distributed statewide. Pryor Main Street extends sincere appreciation to the City of Pryor Creek, Bank of Commerce, ETCH & BURN LASER, and Robin's Nest Flowers & Gifts for choosing to keep their tax dollars invested right here in Pryor.
“This is our show and tell year,” said Executive Director Bridgette Nichols. “With the Graham Community Building project, façade projects moving forward, and the downtown streetscape nearing its groundbreaking phase, 2026 is when our community will start seeing the tangible results of years of planning, partnerships, and persistence.”
Statewide, the Oklahoma Department of Commerce awarded a record $1.3 million to twelve Main Street communities, leveraging nearly $3.3 million in total capital investment. Pryor Main Street is proud to be among the communities selected and looks forward to sharing progress as this transformative project moves ahead.
Downtown Pryor is building momentum and this is just the beginning. ✨
