SCAM ALERT: MEDINA COUNTY

The Medina County Sheriff’s Office is warning residents about a phone scam currently circulating in our area.

Scammers are reportedly posing as members of the Sheriff’s Office and may claim that you have a warrant, owe money, or need to make a payment through a kiosk or other method. They may even make the call appear to come from a legitimate law enforcement phone number.

Please remember: Law enforcement will not call you demanding payment or asking you to deposit money into a kiosk to resolve a warrant.

If you receive a suspicious call:

* Do not provide personal or banking information.
* Do not send money or make a payment.
* Hang up and contact the Medina County Sheriff’s Office directly using a verified phone number.

We encourage our customers and community members to share this information, especially with friends or family members who may be more vulnerable to these types of scams.

Stay alert, protect your information, and when in doubt hang up and verify.
