A separate card-cost line doesn’t prove the whole program.

Traditional processing, RewardPay Choice, and ConsumerChoice differ in how eligible credit cards, debit cards, cash and card pricing, and applicable processing costs are treated. One receipt line may show part of the structure, but not which program you’re actually looking at.

That’s an easy assumption to make. The hardware is the part you see, but Clover can also support day-to-day business management through its software.

Depending on the setup and the operation, that can include managing orders, employees, and items alongside checkout. The point isn’t that every Clover feature fits every business. It’s that the screen at the counter may be one part of a larger system for handling daily work.

Clover can be worth a closer look when you need payment acceptance and business-management tools working together.

“What’s your lowest rate?”

That question makes sense. But the percentage by itself doesn’t show what processing will cost your business.

A lower quoted rate can still lead to a higher total once transaction fees, account fees, and other charges are included. The number that matters is the full pricing structure applied to your account, not the headline rate used in a proposal.

When you compare pricing, ask to see the complete terms behind the quote. That gives you a fair basis for comparing the actual cost.

“Can I use the same terminal for the counter and the front desk?”

3 numbers can appear on one payment statement, and they measure different costs.

• Percentage rate: the portion charged as a percentage of the transaction amount.
• Per-transaction fee: a set amount charged each time a transaction is processed.
• Fixed account or service charge: a recurring charge tied to the account or service.

When comparing statements or pricing options, identify each number before drawing a conclusion. A percentage rate alone does not show the full picture, and a fixed charge is different from a cost applied to every transaction.

Why does a card payment show as “voided” instead of “refunded” on your statement?

A void cancels an authorization before the transaction settles. A refund sends money back after a completed sale. They describe different stages of the payment, so treating them as interchangeable can make the record look incomplete when the two events happened at different points.
