This past Tuesday I had the opportunity to go on the Honor Flight as a Guardian for my Dad. This was an unforgettable experience. It meant a lot to spend that time together, make memories, and see him honored alongside other veterans.

One of the coolest parts was hearing the veterans share their stories. They talked about their experiences like it was just yesterday, and it was powerful to hear those memories directly from the people that lived them.

A huge thank you to the entire Honor Flight organization, especially the volunteers in the Dubuque and Tri-State area that make this so special for our vets. Their time commitment and selflessness do not go unnoticed 👏🏻

Congratulations Lilly!! 🎓

Lilly Stoll, the daughter of Katie Wernimont and Matthew Stoll, will be studying Animal Science at the University of Wisconsin - Platteville. When asked, " Specifically indicate if (and why) you have plans to come back to Iowa and/or your community. What do those plans include? Lilly responded: “I plan to come back to my family dairy farm as the fourth generation, located in Cascade, Iowa. While at school I will have the opportunity to see and research different operations that will give me ideas that I can bring back
home and hopefully help towards the future. I also plan to be highly active in the local commodity groups. The Jones County Dairy Promoters and the Jones County Beef Producers have played an important role in my interests so far and I want to continue to grow those organizations to give kids like me the same opportunity in the future.”

Shelby, a senior at Cascade High School, has been awarded a Dubuque County Farm Bureau Scholarship. She will attend Iowa State University to study Animal Science and plans to pursue a career in veterinary medicine, supporting farmers by keeping livestock healthy. 🐄🌾
We wish Shelby continued success as she pursues her future in agriculture! 🎓
