Team First Flight was proud to attend Women in the C-Suite, an inaugural event hosted by the Tarheel Chapter of the Carolinas Credit Union League.
Our President/CEO, Tabitha Allen, joined fellow North Carolina credit union leaders on the panel to share career and life lessons with attendees. Danielle Abbott of Civic Federal Credit Union , Leigh Brady of State Employees' Credit Union, and Christie Smith of Acclaim Federal Credit Union were fellow panelists and Emily Nail of Coastal Credit Union served as panel moderator.
Throughout the conversation, panelists emphasized the importance of preparation, having the courage to fail fast and forward, and recognizing that leadership is never about doing it alone. Tabitha shared, “Great leaders pass the ball.” She also reminded the room that great leaders are willing to take the shot and own the outcome: “If you miss, get your rebound. And when you start making the shots, pass the ball and give someone else the opportunity to shoot. That’s how you build a great team.”
Conversations like these create space for leaders to share what they’ve learned, support one another, and help open doors for those coming next.
