After passing the CFP® exam back in 2019, I promised my wife I would take some time off from any more credentialing and continuing education. That was quite the marathon to pass that exam, and it was great to apply that practical knowledge to my clients. Well, it’s been a few years, and I had to scratch that educational itch again.
I’m excited to share that I’ve officially passed my final exam and earned the Tax Planning Certified Professional (TPCP™) designation through The American College of Financial Services! 🎓
Unlike an accountant or enrolled agent designation, this advanced credential focuses specifically on proactive tax planning. The coursework dives deep into strategies around:
- Retirement income and distributions
- Tax-efficient investing
- Business owner and self-employed planning
- Charitable and legacy strategies
- Coordinating taxes across a client’s entire financial picture
Why this matters to my clients:
Taxes are often one of the largest expenses you’ll face over your lifetime. This designation strengthens my ability to help clients keep more of what they earn, avoid common tax pitfalls, and make smarter decisions before—not after—tax time.
A special thanks to Jeffrey Levine for being the main instructor on this designation. It’s a great addition and skill set that only furthers the financial planning profession.
As always, I’m grateful for the trust my clients place in me and look forward to continuing to raise the bar in the advice I provide. I'm excited to share my educational milestone!
