Tax planning shouldn't begin when it's time to file your return.
As we enter the final quarter of the year, there's an important distinction between preparing your taxes and planning for them.
Tax preparation looks at what has already happened. Tax planning considers what decisions may still be made before December 31.
The fourth quarter is an opportunity to revisit your broader financial picture and evaluate strategies such as:
• Roth conversions and retirement distributions
• Capital gains and losses
• Charitable giving
• Investment and income considerations
At Monon Wealth Management, we believe tax planning should be part of an ongoing wealth management conversation—not a once-a-year exercise.
That's why we're reviewing these considerations with our clients now, coordinating with their tax professionals when appropriate, and identifying opportunities while there's still time to act.
Because some of the most important year-end financial decisions need to happen before the year ends.
