Scammers are getting more convincing by pretending to be government officials like FBI agents, law enforcement, prosecutors, or other agencies to create fear and pressure people into making quick decisions.

If you receive a call, text, or email demanding immediate payment, threatening arrest, or asking for personal information, slow down and verify before taking action.

Here are 4 ways to protect yourself:
🛑 Slow down and verify - Contact the agency directly using an official phone number or website.
💳 Be cautious of unusual payment requests - Government agencies will not ask for gift cards, wire transfers, cryptocurrency, or payment apps.
🔒 Protect your personal information - Never share account details, passwords, Social Security numbers, or sensitive information unexpectedly.
👥 Talk to someone you trust - If something feels off, pause and speak with a trusted family member, friend, or your financial institution before taking action.

Congratulations to Damon Guillen-Mitchell, our latest KSBY Academic Athlete of the Month! 🎉🏆

Damon continues to raise the bar both on and off the field as a standout three-sport athlete in football, basketball, and baseball. From breaking a 20-year school record for rushing yards in a single game 🏈 to earning Pitcher of the Year honors ⚾ and helping lead his basketball team to the CIF Finals for the first time in more than 50 years 🏀, his accomplishments are nothing short of impressive.

Off the field, Damon maintains an exceptional 4.75 GPA while taking AP, honors, and dual enrollment courses. He’s a leader on campus through Fellowship of Christian Athletes, helping establish the first Black Student Union at Atascadero High School, and has earned a nomination for CIF Student Athlete of the Year.

With acceptances to universities including Baylor University, Texas Tech University, Louisiana State University (LSU), and The University of Texas at Arlington, Damon’s future is incredibly bright ✨. We are proud to celebrate students who lead with excellence, character, and determination in everything they do.
