Mendy was raised in China during the notorious Cultural Revolution. Her parents were physics professors at Beijing University. Her most vivid childhood memory was surviving on monthly food rations in a 170 sq ft, one room apartment she shared with her parents and brother till she was 13. For 10 years her dad had to sleep in his office so when he prepared his lectures at night, the light from his desk would not keep his family awake. Her wildest childhood dream was to have a two room apartment so her dad could sleep at home. In high school, a picture book of America opened her eyes to a new world that meant both freedom and prosperity. In 1991, she came to the United States as a graduate student. In 2000, she purchased her first home and in 2001, she became a mother and a proud US citizen. Looking back, she feels extremely grateful for all the opportunities this great country offered her. Today, as a real estate professional, she shares her story and helps her clients realize their own dreams. “Set your goals, work hard and your dream will come true.” She holds this belief firmly and her results confirm it.
