This is one of those posts worth sending to someone you care about.
Investment scams don’t always look suspicious. They can start with a new friendship, a romantic connection or just someone online who seems genuinely helpful. The website looks professional. The account balance is growing. You may even be able to withdraw some money. And that’s the scary part. It can all look completely real.
FinCEN recently identified nearly $13 billion in financial activity tied to suspected digital-asset investment scams reported by financial institutions. People of all ages were targeted across all 50 states.

If someone you met online introduces you to an investment, take a minute before moving your money. Look into it yourself. Talk to someone you trust. And if you’re being asked to send more money just to access money you supposedly already have, don’t send another dollar.
Send this one to somebody. It’s worth knowing what these scams can actually look like. Looking legitimate doesn’t always mean it is.
