SIU Credit Union Locally-owned financial cooperative serving the needs of southern Illinois since 1938. After all, we're in the business of people helping people.

SIU Credit Union was founded in 1938 as Jackson County Teachers' Credit Union. Today, we serve 24 counties and many employer groups in southern Illinois. As a not-for-profit, member owned, financial cooperative, we believe in serving our membership instead of maximizing profits. At a credit union there are no shareholders or investors – members are the owners. Profits are given back to members in

the form of lower fees, better rates, discount programs, and more. We also value giving back to our communities by donating and volunteering for a variety of charities and organizations. SIU Credit Union is our name, but you don't need to work at Southern Illinois University or be a student to become a member. We love serving our neighbors and friends. We love having restaurants that our guests always request when they visit . We love how easy it is to access our natural beauty, such as Touch of Nature Outdoor Education Center, on a whim.
