Today, I spent a part of my morning with both a friend and an insured that received some disappointing news. Due to HIPAA law, I can't tell you his name, so I'm going to refer to him as "Shane".
Shane received a cancer diagnosis earlier in the year, and has faced multiple setbacks. In spite of those setbacks, he seems to be in good spirits. I believe that a positive outlook and healthy dose of prayer can be an exceptional difference maker, so I've encouraged him to indulge in both. Along with his family, I welcome you to send a few prayers in Shane's direction.
As we approach Cancer Awareness month, I would encourage anyone who reads this to go get yourself screened. You have no reason to delay, and if not for you, do it for your loved ones, because cancer affects so many more than just the afflicted.
If you have questions or concerns about cancer screening, I would encourage you to reach out to your physician.
