Every evening in the quaint town of Thirsk, England, something magical happens.
Just before sunset, a group of local volunteers dons high-vis vests, sets out traffic cones, and prepares for a very important es**rt: the nightly waddle of 20 determined ducks and their ducklings from the river to their chosen sleeping spot in a market square parking lot.
Why do the ducks do this? No one knows for sure. But what began as a quirky animal habit has transformed into a heartwarming ritual of community care. With a mix of tea, laughter, and late-night dedication, these "duck wardens" ensure the birds cross safely — rain or shine, weekday or weekend.
