BUDGET?!.......All jokes aside, having a budget is necessary to truly know where your money is going!

Dave Ramsey says the first step is saving $1,000 for an emergency fund, 2nd start sn*******ng debts. For my husband and I, being honest with ourselves about the debt we had was a turning point for us. We had to pull our head out of the sand and be humbled a bit by the debt we had allowed ourselves to accumulate

STEP 1: I encourage you to do this before you do anything else.....This will help put a realistic plan of attack in place!

Take a moment to write down EVERY SINGLE DEBT, the balance owed and the monthly payment.

HOW MUCH are you spending in reoccurring subscriptions?......better question is how many of those subscriptions that you are paying for are you actually using?
Did you know the average household spends $2500 a year on reoccurring subscriptions! That is $208 a month!!!
I’m talking Netflix, Hulu, Spotify, Amazon prime, phone insurance......the list goes on. Part of taking control of my families money was evaluating these expenses. We were spending $250.98 a month OUCH!! We had Dish, Hulu & Netflix along with Amazon Prime, Spotify and Sirius Radio......this made absolutely no sense as we were tripling our services, paying a fortune and not thinking twice about it. My husband and I settled on keeping Dish, Sirius Radio and Prime (which we now get free with our phone service) which dropped our monthly subscriptions cost to $113 a month.....giving us an extra $136.98 a month for paying off debt.

This is so true! Every January I sit down and update my bucket list, personal and financial goals, areas to improve.....It's a real eye opener as to where I have been and where I am headed.

My word for this year is PURPOSE - I really want to make sure I "DO" life with a purpose, from decision making, spending, saving, traveling, taking pictures and using social media......I want it to have a meaning.....have a reason!
