This past year in real estate has taught me a lot about both restoration and community mindset.
One of the biggest things Iβve learned is that Harrison County primarily values affordability above all else. Thereβs absolutely a need for that, and moving forward, my projects here will be limited to homes that can realistically be purchased, renovated, and supported within HUD rental guidelines for the area.
I still have a strong passion for working in communities that actively value preservation, craftsmanship, architectural history, and restoration.
Because of that, my next project after 545 E Market, which should be ready to hit the market at the beginning of June, will be taking me to Martins Ferry. I also plan to look toward communities like Wheeling that strongly support preservation-focused work and have grants for restoration.
I still care deeply about the idea of creating a meaningful community space in Harrison County someday. That vision is not gone, but I am putting it on hold until next summer while I focus on two larger projects. π
