Has anyone ever heard of a hard market? Well we’re in one right now with insurance. Not just Alfa but carriers across the nation have been affected by wildfires, hurricanes, and all sorts of natural disasters. What does that mean for you, the client? Unfortunately a lot of times it means higher premiums for all customers regardless if they have been affected by any damages or disasters. The cost of rebuilding homes has dramatically increased as well as the increase of car prices. With those increases, insurance has to pay for those houses, those cars that have been affected. Insurance goes by how the world goes, for better or worse. Insurance companies are not out to screw anyone over. They’re there to pick you up when you think you’ve lost everything. They’re in it to help, but it’s also a business at the end of the day and in order to help others, they have to have the money to pay claims. That’s where premiums you pay come in. It won’t be this way forever, and hopefully sooner than later we can all start to get some relief but in the meantime, I wanted to provide some insight on how the industry works in order to educate and encourage everyone that feels like they might be getting a raw deal from insurance companies right now
