This is for the 2025 crop year for speciality crops. Enrollment starts tomorrow. $25/acre for dry beans and dry peas and $225/acre for potatoes. Please see the chart for other speciality crops.

🚨 $1.625 billion is available to specialty crop farmers through USDA's Assistance for Specialty Crop Farmers program. These payments provide financial support to allow producers to pay for production and marketing inputs in the face of significant market disruptions and elevated input costs during the 2025 growing season. The deadline to apply is Aug. 7, 2026.

On June 1, producers with a http://Login.gov account can access and submit their pre-filled application at fsa.usda.gov/ascf, and beginning June 8, producers can request their pre-filled application from their USDA Farm Service Agency county office. Payments will be issued as applications are submitted and approved, beginning as early as the first week of signup.

Yesterday (May 25th) was the final planting date for corn in most counties in our area. You can still plant after the final planting date, but your guarantee is reduced 1% per day up to 25 days.

If you haven't finished planting corn, it's a good idea to submit a notice of loss to your agent for PP corn just in case. A notice of loss must be submitted within 72 hours of the final planting date or within the late planting period in which you find it's no longer feasible to plant. If you're later able to get these acres planted, the PP claim will simply be withdrawn.

Jennifer had the pleasure this past week to attend the spring Crop Insurance Professional Association (C**A) conference in Frisco Texas.

She was accepted to be a part of the regulatory affairs committee in which several policy issues were addressed with RMA Administrator Patricia Swanson and her team.

Top speakers included Dr Bart Fischer, Mr
Jim Weisemeier, Congressman Lucas from Pennsylvania, Senator John Hoeven, and so many more.

The valuable friendships through networking is vital to work together for strong farm policy.
