Envoy Mortgage-Burlington: SPOTLIGHT ON COMMUNITY
Please like and share
Envoy Mortgage-Burlington Spotlight on Community is very pleased to introduce Scott Herrmann. He was nominated by Jamie Wambach, an Account Executive at the Standard Press. In nominating Scott, Jamie stated, “He is just an amazing guy. He has that vibe about him. He is kind, giving, and truly cares about mankind and always strives to help others.”
Scott is originally from Crete, Illinois, and came to Burlington following his heart. His, now wife, Karla is from Burlington. He has made this community his home, and it is with his caring nature and the love and support of his wife that Scott has become a thriving member. Scott received a degree in electrical engineering and worked within the scope of his degree for many years. 9 years ago, Scott sought guidance from his pastor and made the courageous decision to change careers. This leap of faith proved to be a great decision as Scott became the Lead Financial Consultant and manager of Thrivent Financial in Burlington, WI.
Thrivent is a non-profit, Christian-based company that offers financial solutions for all Christians, with no minimum investable assets. Because Thrivent is a non-profit company, it is required to distribute the taxable portion of insurance and certain investments to their members/owners. There are over 2.4 million members/owners of Thrivent which results in hundreds of millions of dollars being given back to the communities yearly. Scott’s hard work and commitment led him to become, Top Advisor in Wisconsin with only 7 years in the financial industry. Along with this recognition, Scott is a qualified Kingdom Advisor which is an independent group of financial advisors that employ biblical principles to financial planning.
Scott not only contributes to the community through his work at a non-profit organization but also volunteers his time and energy for its betterment. He has organized Gift for our Troops that made para cord bracelets for troops overseas, stuffed teddy bears for children of deployed troops, and collected gifts for the veterans at the Milwaukee Veterans Hospital. He is a member of Love Inc. (past President-and on the Board of Directors since 2008), the Burlington Rotary Club, and Burlington Chamber of Commerce. In addition to volunteering as a mentor at Love Inc. and the CATHE Center, Scott supports the United Way, Life Choices, Transitional Living Center and Lighthouse Youth Center. Scott has also sponsored the Turkey Trot/run to benefit our local food pantry Located at Love Inc. He is also a part of Thrivent Builds-Habitat for Humanity. As part of this group, he organized a group of about 15 community members and made 5 trips to El Salvador and Biloxi, Mississippi, to help those communities by building homes. When asked, “Why are community initiatives and involvement important to you?” Scott replied, “I believe, everything we have is a gift from God and we are called to be good stewards, and it is important to support the community that supports our business, especially, supporting our veterans, who sacrifice so much to protect our freedoms that we have.”
Scott’s community contributions are inspiring to say the least. The reason for his generosity is very simple and true. Scott states, “Community has embraced me and my business and giving a tithe to the community is the right thing to do, it is all listed right there in the Bible.” Scott was blessed with many gifts, and he has chosen to share them with the Burlington community. During this holiday season, Scott hopes, “People would take time with their family and loved ones and spend time enjoying and reconnecting.”
I ask you, the readers, to please notice and try to emulate the good deeds of others. Our community needs you. I thank you, Scott Herrmann, for all you have done, for all you are doing, and for all that is yet to come.
