Medicare Enrollment Season officially starts today!! Know the difference in the enrollment periods!!

Annual Enrollment Period-October 15-December 7th (whichever plan you enroll in last….will be the plan you have starting January 1)

Meaning if you changed your plan in November, but decided to either go back to your original or even a different plan….the last one that is in will be the plan you are on.

Open Enrollment Period:

January 1-March 31
A one time get out of jail free card.
If you decide to change during this period, you can change one time. Once you do this that will be the plan you are on for the rest of the calendar year! (choose wisely)

Healthspring Medicare just announced no Duke Health for 2027!! This means they have no UNC or Duke for 2027! If you have this plan and want to switch please get in here by December 7th!!

For individuals that had the Health Team Advantage C-SNP plan (for heart and diabetes). Remember, your plan is being cancelled as of December 31,2026. You will need to make an appointment to come in!! We do have other C-SNP options!! So not all is lost!!

During this year of health insurance and Medicare season, please make sure you are using a local agent!! If you buy from someone on the phone, or you go online….you are sending the money to someone out of the area! We’d love to have your business, but if you have a good local agent keep them!! With AI, online portals, and telemarketers….they don’t pay taxes in your local community!!!

The state is going to disenroll you from the Aetna 70/30 plan and you will be dissenrolled from your private Medicare Advantage plan/Part D drug plan and automatically enrolled into their Humana Medicare Advantage plan!!!

If you want to keep your coverage like it currently is, you must call the state at 855-859-0966 option number 2 between October 12-30th and tell them you want to keep your Aetna 70/30 plan!! If you do not do this, you will lose your current plan!!!!! Please share this message so it gets out to everyone!!

Please be on the lookout for your Annual Notice of Change document from your current Medicare Advantage plan. These will show you what is changing from this year to next (2027). You will notice there are negative changes on your plan from this to next. These changes are happening nationwide, so it’s not just your plan. Don’t panic, there are still other options that we can switch you to. Keep in mind however, you may find an extra benefit but you may lose a doctor in the process. Plans that tend to have more bells and whistles normally have smaller and tighter networks. Make sure you have a phone/in person meeting set up. Enrollment is from October 15-December 7th.
