A rate lock freezes your interest rate quote for a specific period (typically 30, 60, or even 90 days) so you can estimate exactly what your closing costs and your monthly payments will be. Let your loan officer know you’re interested in a locked rate so they can proactively call you when they feel the timing is right! 🔒
