Can saving money make you rich?

Saving money can make you rich if you are investing your savings in the right place over a long period of time. This isn’t something that happens overnight but in the long run you can have a substantial amount of money.

For example: Setting aside $500 with a return from 6 or 8% you would have a million dollars in 40 or 33 years. But putting back more you could reach it much faster like $6000 for 10 years.

Saving money can be difficult to do. There are so many unexpected things that seem to come out of nowhere.

People get sick, accidents happen and in some unfortunate events emergencies happen.

Roughly 37% Americans can afford a $500 emergency expense. Out of over 300 million people a little over a third can emergency.

That is very unsettling considering that we live in one of the wealthiest countries in the world!
