Texas weather has a mind of its own, but taking care of your home doesn't have to be complicated.

Here are a few simple things you can do around the house that could help when the next storm hits:
- Take photos of your home and belongings for your records.
- Know where your policy documents are and how to reach your agent.
- Secure anything in the yard that wind could turn into a projectile (yes, including the trampoline).

If you're not sure what your policy covers, that's what we're here for.

Simple truth: good drivers save more with Drive’n Save.

If you've got a safe driver in the house (or you are one), ask us about Drive’n Save.

It's an easy way for careful driving to actually show up on your premium, and for parents of new drivers, it's a little extra peace of mind about what's happening behind the wheel when you're not in the passenger seat.

Takes a few minutes to set up. Ask us how it works.

Can I ask you something?

Do you know what your deductible actually is?

I'd so much rather have that conversation with you on a sunny Tuesday than the morning after a hailstorm. It takes ten minutes.

Bring your questions, I'll pull up your policy, and we'll make sure there are no surprises waiting in the fine print.

The storms around here don't give much warning. Your covered.

The phone call I get most often starts with "I've just been in an accident, what do I do?" And that's what I'm here for.

But it helps to know the steps before you ever need them:
1. Check for injuries first. Everything else can wait.
2. If it's safe, move out of traffic and turn on your hazards.
3. Call 911. Even for a minor accident.
4. Take photos of everything: damage, plates, the road around you.
5. Exchange info with the other driver. Stick to facts, skip the fault talk.
6. Call your agent. We'll walk through the next steps together.
7. Keep an eye on how you feel over the next few days. Adrenaline hides a lot.

Whether you just bought your first home, started renting your first apartment, are finally finishing out that back room, or running a few acres outside of town, each one comes with different insurance questions, and I'd rather you ask them before you need the answers.

This guide covers the big ones: what your policy actually covers, what to ask before you buy a home, how renovations change things, and when a farm and ranch policy makes more sense than a standard one.

Saving money is important, but so is understanding what you're getting in return.

The right coverage isn't always about paying less. It's about making sure you're protected when it matters most.

Most people have coverage for their home and vehicles, but fewer people know there's an option to add an extra layer of liability protection above those policies. That's where an umbrella policy can help.

If you have a teen driver, regularly host family and friends, own rental property, or simply want added peace of mind, it's worth learning whether an umbrella policy is a good fit. Many people are surprised by how affordable it can be.

If you're curious, I'd be happy to answer your questions and help you decide if it makes sense for your situation.

Planning a road trip this summer?

Before you pack the car, here are two things that are worth a quick look:

Liability limits - Texas requires minimum liability coverage, but those limits may not be enough for every situation. It's worth understanding what your policy provides before you're on the road.

Rental reimbursement - If your vehicle needs repairs after a covered claim, this optional coverage can help keep you on the road with a rental vehicle while yours is in the shop.

If you're heading out soon and have questions about either of these, give us a call.
