How did you prepare for last week’s game?
“I practiced really hard. I’ve learned that the harder you make practice, the easier the games are.”
What is your mindset going into this week’s game?
“My mindset is just focusing on winning one snap at a time, moving the line of scrimmage, and keeping low pads.”
Do you have any personal or team goals for this season?
“My goals are to have a winning season and make the playoffs. I think we can do it as a team.”
Are there any teammates you would like to shout out from last week’s game?
“All of my teammates. I think our offensive line had a lot of pancakes, especially Hunter Mowat. He had a lot of people on the ground.”
What is your favorite part about being a Burkburnett Bulldog?
“My favorite part is our Bulldog culture because I’ve grown up with everyone around me, so we all have that close bond.”

What is the biggest positive you saw from the team last week?
“The biggest positive that I saw from the team last week was that the team understood what our goal was and what our goal will be this season. That is to try to win one snap at a time going into each game. We want to focus on the process, and the results will speak for themselves.”
What was a play that stood out to you that might not get recognized on the stat sheet?
“In this game, there were a lot of those. There were a lot of outstanding plays made by a lot of players. The player I want to highlight this week is Kane Titus. With Kane being our quarterback, a lot of people are focused on passing yards and things of that nature. He ran two quarterback sneaks, and they had to call two separate timeouts in order to stop him from rushing the ball. When they didn’t call a timeout, he averaged 6.3 yards a carry. That is one of our biggest goals going into a game—we want to control the line of scrimmage. Well, there’s your evidence because anytime you can gain 6.3 yards a carry, you are doing good things.
“Now, here is what’s very interesting: he is also our short and long snapper. So, if we ran a quarterback sneak out of PAT, Kane is our center doing the lead blocking for our holder. That is something that is probably very interesting and that probably nobody will recognize, but it exemplifies the type of player Kane Titus is: unselfish and a team player. That is the strength of our team.
“An honorable mention from last week’s game was Nate Gray’s field goal block and Alex Diaz’s return. Nate Gray went through the guard and blocked the PAT, giving Alex the chance to scoop it”
“I want to shout out the O-line and their stats because we had around 22 players on the ground. We just want to keep building off that and take pride in it.
“All of these plays prove that it takes a team and everybody contributing.”
What has this group of players done this week in preparation for the upcoming game against Krum?
“Going into this game, what we focused on was pad level and finishing because we want to control the line of scrimmage, and the low man wins in football. The O-line and D-line have done a really great job under the guidance of Coach Mieruz and Coach Barnes. I cannot say enough about our leadership in those positions because they bring a lot of leadership, knowledge, energy, and guidance to those kids.”
