3️⃣ “I’ll spend much less when I retire.”
More Often, retirees spend the same—or more—especially on healthcare, travel, and lifestyle goals.
4️⃣ “I must be debt-free before retiring.”
Not always. What matters is having a strategy that balances debt, cash flow, and long-term security.
5️⃣ “You need $1 million to retire.”
There is no magic number. Your retirement plan should be personalized based on lifestyle and goals which could be more or less than $1 million dollars.
6️⃣ “Retirement means I stop working.”
Many retirees work part-time, consult, or start passion projects for fulfillment and supplemental income. Working or not after retirement is a major factor in your financial plan.

Small, consistent contributions grow over time. Consistency beats perfection.
8️⃣ “Healthcare will be free once I hit 65.”
Medicare has gaps. Premiums, deductibles, as well as long-term care and out-of-pocket costs still apply. Be sure to speak with a professional about your coverage options.
9️⃣ “I can take money from my accounts anytime.”
401(k)s, IRAs, Roth accounts, and annuities have different rules and tax treatments. A withdrawal strategy matters.
🔟 “I don’t need a financial advisor.”
A professional helps optimize taxes, manage risk, build strategies for income, and recognize potential costly mistakes.
Bottom line: Retirement isn’t a one-size-fits-all plan. The more informed you are, the more confident your future will be.
