It was such an honor (and career goal!) to be a guest on one of my favorite podcasts. XYPN has been an invaluable resource for me as I have changed careers. Their podcast was one of the biggest reasons why I had the confidence to start my own firm. Today, it came full circle as I was a guest on Behind The Advisor podcast and got to share my story.
Here's what they said:
"What does it actually look like to start over… with no safety net?

In this new episode of Behind The Advisor, Alan Moore sat down with Greg Vojtanek, CFP® to talk about what it really takes to reinvent your career.

He had no clients, no backstop. Just a plan and an 18–24 month runway
But by month 15, he stopped pulling from savings.

Today, he runs a firm built for creatives in the entertainment industry, because he used to be one.

If you’ve ever wondered whether you can actually pull this off… this one’s for you"

CONFIRMED: Investors Have Another Bias (1:51 video)

We all have biases, even professional investors. You can learn something from the pros while you're trying to choose the best investments for your situation. Here's a bias that nearly all of us have when it comes to investing: Confirmation Bias.

We all have biases, even professional traders and investors. As a fee-only fiduciary who is always looking out for the best interests of his clients, I have one that I'd like to share, and it’s called Hindsight Bias.

I sent out the 43rd issue of No Notes! yesterday. It's my newsletter for those who don't like lengthy newsletters. In this issue there is info about when to pay yourself, financial goals for the year, the benefits of filing taxes early, and getting back to work. If you want this issue, or past/future issues, just leave a comment. Thanks!

(1:50 video) For those with their own Loan-out Company, LLC, or SCorp, the issue of paying yourself comes up a lot. To simplify the process of paying yourself, I have seen most clients run payroll once per quarter. But you don't have to cut yourself a paycheck. You can just transfer money from one bank account to another.

Why is investing so difficult? First of all, it doesn't have to be. Second, even though there are enough numbers and data to make your head spin, those are not the things you should focus on. Instead, focus on THIS part, and you may become a much better investor.

What's the BEST part of having your own S-Corp? It's not the tax perks.

BLOG: HERE'S WHY YOU DON'T NEED A BUSINESS MANAGER
(4mins) Some writers/directors think they need a Business Manager for the same reason they think they need their own S-Corp: they saw someone else do it. The chances of you needing one are *incredibly* slim.

(4 mins) Some people think they need a Business Manager for the same reason they think they need their own S-Corp: they saw someone else do it. Usually the other person is someone with more success or in a higher position. The chances of you needing one are incredibly slim.
