Buying a house can be a terrible financial decision.

Not because homeownership is “bad”… but because buying at the wrong time can put you in a hole you can’t climb out of.

A house is only a blessing if you can afford the payment and the life that comes with it: repairs, maintenance, surprises, and still having money left to save.

If you’re thinking about buying soon, don’t ask “How much can I qualify for?”

Ask: “What can I afford without becoming house-poor?”
