“Pay in 4” makes a $400 purchase feel like $100. But all four payments still have to fit somewhere. Allen and Juliana talk about putting buy now, pay later payments into your monthly budget, and why the fine print matters.

Have you ever clicked "Pay in 4" at checkout? 🛒

You're not alone. Klarna, Affirm and Afterpay show up on almost every shopping site now, and splitting $100 into four $25 payments feels painless.

But buy now, pay later is still a loan. On this week's Making Money Manageable, Allen and Juliana talk through what to watch for:

🚩 Missed payments can mean late fees and may affect your credit score
🚩 Three or four BNPL apps means more logins and more due dates to track
🚩 Returns can get messy, and your refund may take longer
🚩 Those balances add up when a lender reviews your debt before a bigger purchase
🚩 Some plans do charge interest, so check the fine print

Their best tip: before you click "pay later," ask yourself, "Would I still buy this if I had to pay for it all today?"

Quick question: What's the last thing you bought with buy now, pay later? Tell us below 👇

Ever seen a money tip online that sounded a little too good to be true? 🤔

Financial advice on social media is everywhere. We're part of it ourselves! But when clients bring us tips from influencers they follow, we sometimes spot a few warning signs.

In the latest Making Money Manageable episode, Allen Dembski and Juliana Janson share the red flags they watch for, including:

✔️ No disclaimer that the content is general education
✔️ Pushing one specific product
✔️ "Everyone should do this" advice
✔️ Pressure to act right now
✔️ Promises of guaranteed returns

Their advice: compare several sources, and check a professional's background through FINRA, the SEC, or New York State.

When should you take Social Security? It might be one of the biggest financial decisions you ever make — bigger than buying a house or a car, honestly.

There's no single right age for everyone. It depends on your health, your other income, whether you're still working, and a handful of other factors we walk through in this video.

One of the first questions we ask people: are you planning to keep working after you claim? Watch to find out why that matters. 🎥

What questions do you have about your own timing? Ask away in the comments.

"Just take it early and invest it yourself" — you've probably heard this advice about Social Security. We wanted to talk through why it's not that simple.

The market goes up, and the market goes down. There are no guarantees year to year. Delaying Social Security, on the other hand, adds a predictable increase to your future monthly payout.

We're not saying one choice is right for everyone — just that it's worth understanding both sides before you decide. Watch the full breakdown. 🎥
