It makes me happy to see our local Georgia sheriff, (Scott Nelson), and his great staff offering to teach the ladies of the community how to properly defend/ protect themselves!
(It's a blessing to know that the majority of us (25&⬆️) in this region already know how to). 😉 🙂☺️

The Schley County Sheriff's Office will be offering a Ladies Handgun Safety and Personal Defense Class on March 7th 2026. Class times will be 9am to 5pm, with a break for lunch.
This will include classroom discussion on personal safety and awareness, prevention of violent assaults, Georgia handgun laws, gun and range safety and how to understand what a defensive handgun will best serve YOU. The class will include a range session in the afternoon.
If you already have a handgun and are comfortable with it you can use that at the range. If you do not have a handgun we recommend you not purchase one before the class, we will have several different handguns available for you to try.
There is no cost to attend this training. Sheriff Scott Nelson and the SCSO Training Staff will provide a SAFE, FUN, and PROFESSIONAL training in a non stressful environment. Seats are limited so sign up early.
Additional classes for ladies and co-ed will be added as needed to allow as many citizens as possible to take advantage of these opportunities.
