Blue Shield Of California And The Covid-19 Vaccine
The Moderna and Pfizer Covid-19 vaccines have been FDA approved and are currently being distributed to California.

Blue Shield clients will be able to receive the vaccination at no cost, whether it is preformed by in network or out-of-network providers, as it is considered preventative care.

The first people to receive the vaccine will be health care workers and individuals working within long term care settings. Second priority will be individuals with high-risk medical conditions.

There are not yet enough vaccines to be distributed to everyone, so the CDC still recommends that everyone exhibits social distancing and wears a mask when in a position where distancing cannot be achieved for there safety of yourself and others around you.

Covered California has extended their enrollment deadline for a January 1st effective date!
While the overall deadline to enroll or make changes to a Covered California individual or family plan is still January 31st, those in need of a January 1st effective dates now have until December 30th to enroll and pay for their first month, rather than December 15th.
