Kendall Richins attended Oldham County Schools for 12+ years. She started her educational journey at Oldham County Preschool, then attended Centerfield Elementary, East Oldham Middle School, and Oldham County High.
However, Kendall was not able to complete her journey due to an illness that ultimately took her life. Although, she was not able to graduate, she still gained so much knowledge, developed many skills, and felt genuinely loved because of her dedicated teachers and all the staff at Oldham County Schools. For that, we will be forever grateful.

We created the “Be Kind for Kendall” Memorial Scholarship to help students feel empowered and have a sense of belonging.
This scholarship, in Kendall’s honor, is awarded to those students who are kind, give back to the community, and need additional support as they continue their education.

This is how our family can pay forward all the kindness shown to Kendall throughout her medical and education journey. It is an honor to continue Kendall’s legacy.

The Angel Twins Memorial Scholarship is given in memory of Cathryn and Corynne Bouchard who lost their lives before the age of 2 to Niemann-Pick Disease, a rare disease for which there is no cure. The scholarships are a tribute to the medical professionals who supported us through their challenges, as we encourage two students pursuing degrees in health or medicine.

Memorial Scholarship
Warren Maggard was a teacher at Oldham County High School from 1969-1989, then transferred to South Oldham High School 1989-2009. He taught biology, chemistry and most famously, anatomy and physiology. His big project was the dissection of cats and pigs at the end of the year .He was so passionate about educating and inspiring his students. He wanted each student to thrive and learn from him. He knew exactly what he was talking about and could make everyone in his class understand with diagrams or picture or the real thing. He loved doing labs and showing off what some would think is gross. But to others, (like himself) this was the best part. Some have even told him that they did not want to take his classes first, but did, and his class inspired them to become a doctor. Warren Maggard even had his own daughter in an anatomy and physiology class. She went on to pursue and secure a job in the medical field. Warren Maggard not only taught in the Oldham County school system, but he was part of athletics as well. He was an assistant wrestling coach for many years and ran the concession stand for both indoor and outdoor sports.

Warren Maggard was a huge UK fan. Any time the football or basketball team was playing you knew he was someplace watching the game and probably eating popcorn.

This scholarship is for those students who want to utilize the love of teaching, science and medicine into furthering their career and dreams.
