Gateway Bank's known history began with a bank reorganization on March 7, 1932, as the Bank of Rison, and has remained in business under the same charter ever since. On October 1, 2013, The Bank of Rison was purchased by Sigma Holdings Inc., an Arkansas group of investors with deep ties to south Arkansas including being alumni of Arkansas universities such as of University of Monticello, Henderson
