Jamey (left) and Richard Ember (right) present Salvation Army Center Director, Pastor Kelly Crenshaw, with a check for $1000 from the members of the local RVOS Lake Brownwood Lodge #154 as a contribution towards their Christmas 'Bells' campaign.

They also enclosed a matching contribution from the Agency.

The day before, Jamey and Richard took their place outside United Grocery Store and rang bells for two hours. This followed the other Agents, Dustie Primm and Kaye-Leigh Sybert, who had taken their place with the bells the week before.

Right at the very start of the 'bells' campaign, Kaye-Leigh and Richard took a turn with an elf and the grinch who looked suspiciously like Kaye-Leigh's two sons.

As we take stock of all that we have to be thankful for we wish to thank all of our customers, business partners and others. We appreciate your business and support throughout the year. We could never do what we do without you!

As some of you probably know, our friend Alan Salyer was involved in a serious vehicle accident. Alan is doing better however he has a long road to recovery! Everybody knows Alan, the owner of Trans Texas Tire right here in Brownwood! Alan has helped the Fire service of Brown County way more than we could ever repay him! This is a way for us to give back to Alan for everything he’s done for us. Mark your calendars!

We believe our Customer Service is good.

But we also take other service seriously.

Kaye-Leigh was a manager of a well-known restaurant chain in DFW before becoming a manager at an international coffee chain store, also in DFW.

She left that behind in January to join the family business here in Brownwood but on hearing that the Salvation Army in Brownwood was reopening, she put her hand up to volunteer there. Then, upon hearing that the Kitchen Manager could not go on a planned trip to the coast as there was no cover, she dusted-off her Kitchen Manager’s License and ran the kitchen last Friday.

We are pleased to serve our customers AND our community.

On Women’s Day we are happy to celebrate the massive contribution to all that is good in the world made by women in the persons of our very own Jamey Ember and Kaye-Leigh Hamrah Sybert.

Jamey has been the Head of the Agency since her mother, Brenda Martin Forbess , retired. Jamey’s own daughter, Kaye-Leigh, joined the Agency this year and is looking to keep the family tradition going.
